Commission: The Golden Pearl

A project where I worked with a small time children's book creator to make their characters into a Cover Page to represent their material. I used all of their designs on their website and fixed up a few of them to make them work all together in a scene together. On their website, their characters where designed in slightly altered and different styles, I took it upon myself to style match all of them. I was tasked with the idea of a band made up of the main cast but with no real guidelines to the format or placement besides 2 characters would be singing, 2 would be dancing, 1 on trumpet, and the man on drums.

It took some time to learn the characters personalities and their personal connection to one another, but once I figured that out I placed each character accordingly.

A little bit of time passed and the creator contacted me again for an animated cover page with the characters doing their respective actions. After a bit of planning and adjusting to fit their budget, I came to animated 8 out of the 12 characters shown in the original Cover Page created with some minor adjustments to spacing and character placement so it didn't feel like anything was missing.
